~Through every brushstroke, I aim to unveil the hidden stories that lie within each gaze and expression, bringing souls to life on canvas.~
I’ve always been drawn to faces and the stories they hold. Long before I became a portrait artist, I studied design and worked in creative fields, but it was painting people and pets that felt most natural to me. Over time, I discovered that a portrait can be much more than art on the wall — it can be a way to honor love, memory, and connection.
My artistic style blends realism with painterly brushwork. I want each portrait to look true to life, yet still feel alive and expressive. The details matter — the softness of a child’s expression, the wisdom in an elder’s gaze, the personality in a beloved pet. Each of these qualities deserves to be seen and preserved.
I’ve painted more than 100 commissioned portraits for families, collectors, and art lovers. Every commission is a collaboration, guided by your vision and enriched by my craft. I work in oil on canvas, a medium that gives depth, richness, and permanence to the finished piece.
Based in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, I serve clients locally and across the U.S. Whether we connect in person or virtually, I make the process simple and personal. From the first conversation to the final brushstroke, I am committed to creating a portrait that captures both likeness and spirit — one that will be treasured for generations.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my work. I invite you to explore my portfolio and imagine how a portrait might become part of your story.
Technique
Lisa starts with a blank canvas, then draws directly on the canvas with thinned down paint and a brush. She then develops the drawing into an underpainting, which shows the light and shadow areas of the subject.
Next, she adds color, using professional grade oil paints. As she develops the painting, Lisa continually makes adjustments to ensure she is getting the best likeness and making the portrait lifelike and realistic.
The finished painting is then allowed to dry and then is varnished with Gamvar, a quick drying varnish for oil paint.
